Minor differences in the size of two breasts are common. Most women don’t even notice it. But sometimes the difference is big enough to be obvious even to others. Breast asymmetry can be corrected by plastic surgery. Many situations are possible.
• One of the breasts is perfect in size and shape whereas the other one is either absent, underdeveloped or too large and saggy- only one breast can be operated and made smaller or larger to match the normal breast.
• Problem is with both the breasts, one being too big and other being too small- both the breasts need surgery, smaller one can be enlarged doing breast augmentation with implants and larger one can be reduced by breast reduction surgery or lifted with breast lift surgery.
• Both the breasts are too big , one more than other- bilateral breast reduction is indicated with removal of different amount of tissue from different sides to make them even.
• Both the breasts are too small, one more than other breast augmentation with implants of different sizes can be used to make the breasts symmetrical.
